Working in NHS Professionals (NHSP) Nursing & Midwifery Team, the Recruitment Consultant is responsible for recruiting, suitable qualified, professional candidates and placing them into relevant assignments in NHSP client organisations.

You will be working with clients, to build and maintain effective working relationships to ensure we maintain a good understanding of their temporary staffing recruitment needs and requirements for all staffing roles from entry level to Specialist Roles.

Key Accountabilities:

  • Owning and developing a bank member workforce to enable shift fill
  • Build and maintain a candidate pipeline based on their area of speciality and continue to build your own knowledge of their Specialties and Sub Specialities so that you can proactively develop in partnership with your candidates their career pathways.
  • Undertake proactive recruitment activity to support pipeline growth including, social media, advertising, CV database mining, posting of jobs on agreed channels and being a point of expertise in your specific speciality area
  • Support the compliance team in ensuring on going compliance of workers is maintained
  • Work with Finance teams ensuring candidates timesheets or pay queries are resolved in a timely and effective manner
  • Deal with client/candidate queries and take ownership to follow up and ensure they are dealt with efficiently
  • Manage placed candidates’ assignments and maintain effective relationships with active candidates and placements
  • Attend relevant conferences/events to network and engage with existing and potential candidates and clients
  • Undertake visits to new clients and regular visits to existing clients as required to ensure maintenance of effective relationships with both clients and candidates
  • Support in the development and training of new team members
  • Be an Ambassador for NHSP, NHS and wider healthcare sector
  • Ensure advertisements are drafted and placed appropriately using a wide range of media (e.g. newspapers, websites, magazines);
  • Headhunting - identifying and approaching suitable candidates.
  • Always ensure confidentiality of records and personal information in accordance with the organisation’s policy and provisions of GDPR


About The Candidate
Person Specification:
  • REC certified or CIPD qualified/part-qualified or equivalent relevant experience
  • Proven and demonstrable experience in a recruitment consultant role
  • Numerate and detail conscious
  • Experience of working towards KPIs and objectives/in a target driven environment
  • Confident communicator with excellent verbal, presentation and written communication skills
  • Ability to build effective working relationships with staff at all levels across a wide range of managerial and professional groups
  • Influencing and negotiation skills
  • Able to respond well to pressure and tight deadlines
  • Ability to manage time and workload effectively without direct supervision
  • Ability to plan and organise a range of activities; formulate and adjust plans and strategies
  • Flexible approach to changing business needs
  • Strong relationship and influencing skills
