About The Role

We are seeking a talented Data Analyst to join NHS Professionals' rapidly expanding Data and Analytics team.

As a Data Analyst, you will play a crucial role in helping NHSP make better decisions by turning raw data into useful insights. This role involves applying various analytical tools including Power BI for interactive dashboards, SQL for database querying, and SSRS for comprehensive reporting to transform raw information into meaningful patterns and trends. You can leverage Azure services for cloud-based data storage and processing while being responsible for identifying relevant data sources, collecting information from multiple systems, and ensuring data quality through cleaning and validation processes.

The position requires managing complex datasets by abstracting, aggregating, and manipulating information using SQL queries and Azure data services to conduct comprehensive analytical studies. You must skilfully link different data sources together and present the findings through Power BI visualizations, SSRS reports, and clear summaries tailored to the audience's needs. By utilizing these Microsoft business intelligence tools and cloud services, you can effectively communicate complex analytical conclusions in formats that enable stakeholders to understand key insights and make informed strategic decisions.

About The Candidate

To be successful in this post you will need to demonstrate:

  • Contribute to statistical insights and reports using appropriate techniques under supervision.
  • Follow QA standards; identify and resolve data quality issues to ensure datasets meet requirements.
  • Facilitate and support discussions in multidisciplinary teams, managing challenging dynamics and representing the team externally when needed.
  •  Use project management tools/methodologies (e.g., Agile, Kanban, Azure DevOps, Jira, Confluence) suited to the environment.
  • Apply data ethics and privacy principles under supervision; escalate identified risks appropriately.
  • Comply with data governance policies on access, sharing, dissemination, and protection; support data management across services/products.
  • Design simple analytical approaches and code, with clear documentation of methods and outputs.
  • Create focused, accessible visualizations tailored to team goals and diverse user needs.
  • Communicate with technical and non-technical stakeholders, addressing questions and managing differing perspectives.
  • Assist in planning reusable and reproducible data models and pipelines from appropriate sources.
