About The Role

We are a leading organisation supporting NHS Trusts with innovative temporary staffing solutions.

We are looking for an exceptional Director of Finance to join our Board of Directors, reporting directly to the Chief Executive Officer. This is a unique opportunity to shape and lead the financial strategy of a growing and impactful organisation.

As the Director of Finance, you will play a critical role in developing and delivering the corporate financial strategy. You will work closely with the Board, Chief Executive, and Executive Committee as an expert strategic partner to drive the organisation’s strategic goals.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and develop a high-performing, professional finance team, ensuring the effective delivery of finance services across the organisation.
  • Provide strategic financial management expertise and maintain sound financial control.
  • Oversee the organisation’s annual business planning process and ensure alignment with long-term objectives.
  • Develop and execute a finance strategy that supports sustainable growth and business objectives, including system improvements and MI enhancements.
  • Drive cost efficiencies and add value through strategic initiatives and robust KPI development.
  • Ensure the organisation has robust financial systems, structures, and processes to deliver high-quality services cost-effectively.
  • Deliver accurate, timely, and comprehensive financial management information to the Board, reporting against business plans and targets.
  • Implement integrated corporate governance policies, ensuring compliance with legal and regulatory requirements.
  • Establish a well-defined risk profile and ensure appropriate control measures are in place.
About The Candidate
We are looking for an experienced Finance Leader who brings a mix of strategic vision, technical expertise, and strong leadership skills. You will have a proven track record of delivering financial strategy and governance in a large, complex organisation, preferably with exposure to the healthcare or public sectors.
 
You must have experience of operating at or near board level in a senior financial position, with the capability to step into a CFO position.
 
You will have:
  • Expertise in financial management, planning, and control.
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to inspire and develop a professional finance team.
  • Experience with corporate governance, risk management, and regulatory compliance.
  • Exceptional communication and stakeholder management skills, particularly with Board and executive-level stakeholders.
  • Proven ability to deliver cost efficiencies and financial improvements
