About The Role

An exciting opportunity has arisen within the NHS Professionals Bank Member Human Resources Team!

Reporting to the Senior HR Advisor you will provide a comprehensive and professional HR service to all internal and external NHS Professionals customers and stakeholders.

You will advise on the application of and adherence to all statutory and contractual Human Resources legislation, policies and procedures in relation to Flexible workers.
Objectives of the role;
  • The primary responsibility of this role is to support the Senior HR Advisors/ HR Manager on a day to day basis by providing a comprehensive, knowledge based high quality advisory service on HR related issues to NHS Professionals managers for flexible workers.
  • Ensure best practice Human Resources Management techniques are adhered to for flexible workers and is consistent within the organisation.
  • Support the Senior HR Advisor/HR Manager in analysing complex HR casework in relation to disciplinary action, grievance issues, assessing and recommending appropriate courses of action to ensure the effective resolution of issues.
  • Provide a comprehensive advisory service as a panel member in disciplinary, grievance and appeal hearings; advising on best practice, taking minutes, preparing documentation and correspondence.
  • Be pro-active in responding to queries from partner trusts.

With relevant HR experience, you should be educated to degree level or equivalent. 

In addition, you should also have the ability to provide NHS Professional’s managers and supervisors with a knowledgeable and efficient best-practice Human Resources advisory and support service.

This role offers a hybrid working model, allowing you to split your time between home and the office with ad hoc in person team meetings at Hemel.

  •  Have previous experience in a HR department 
  •  Strong Employment Law Knowledge
  • Competence handling disciplinaries, grievances, investigations, appeals, and performance/absence cases
  • Ability to triage and prioritise high‑risk or time‑sensitive matters
  • Skilled in maintaining detailed, accurate case records
  • Investigation and Analytical Skills
  • Ability to gather and evaluate evidence objectively
  • Strong interviewing skills
  • Skilled in identifying root causes and recommending resolutions
