NHS Professionals is looking for a Clinical Lead. We have two posts available. 
 
This is a Full Time position. Monday - Friday (37.5 hours per week)
Location: Hybrid working, with the opportunity to work from one of NHSP's offices in Hemel Hempstead, Leeds or Manchester. 
 
As a senior healthcare professional, you will be responsible for the management of a caseload of serious and complex clinical concerns raised about Bank Members delivery of care, which require investigation. In response to these investigations you will be responsible for creating action plans to ensure safe and effective care of patients. 
 
You will be the main point of contact for external agencies i.e., Local Authority, Police, Legal representatives, union representatives, external investigators, and Trust Investigators and legal teams in relation to management of caseload. 
 
You will be responsible for managing an individual investigation caseload, from initial report to conclusion of the investigation and you will be the point of contact for Clinical Governance and senior leads within a designated allocation of Trusts.
 
You will be required to consult with all parties, internal and external and those who may be required to provide first-hand accounts. This will involve supporting staff and reviewing responses to ensure it covers all aspects of the original concern, including statutory requirements.
 
To be successful in this critical role, we are looking for someone with strong stakeholder management and communication skills.
 
Additionally, you will have gained exposure to staff management including competency skills and training .
 
You will need to be compassionate in your approach to handling difficult and sensitive cases.

About The Candidate

To be successful in this post you will need to demonstrate; 

  • NMC Registered with senior experience.
  • Experience in investigations ie. Datix, performance management of staff and/or patient complaints 
  • Accountable for professional judgments and decisions
  • Ensure all complaints and incidents are investigated in compliance with the NHS Professionals Complaints and Incident Policy and Complaints and Incidents Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) utilising clinical knowledge, expertise and judgment
  • Manage cases showing compassion responsiveness and awareness of patient safety risks
  • Ensure accurate and timely record keeping and data storage at all times throughout the investigation process
  • Handle and store all confidential information in line with information governance and data protection legislation: DPA 2018
  • Ensure that all relevant corporate policies and procedures are followed.
  • Awareness of the Data Protection Act 2018 and Safeguarding legislation
