Due to a significant increase in bid activity, we are excited to offer a permanent opportunity for an experienced Senior Bid Manager to join our dynamic and expanding team.

Whilst the role provides flexibility to work remotely from home, there is also the option to work from one of our office hubs located in Hemel Hempstead, Leeds, or London or an approved co-working space, that is closer to your location. Ad hoc in person meetings will also be required.

Skills/Responsibilities

Working within our highly supportive team you will:

  • Lead the full end‑to‑end delivery of bids and proposals, from multiple concurrent opportunities to large, complex, high value strategic tenders.
  • Plan, prioritise and manage all bid activity to ensure compliant, competitive, high quality submissions delivered on time.
  • Support Regional Workforce Service Directors and Service Line Leads by producing strategic sales and bid documentation.
  • Produce regular bid status reports, maintain accurate Salesforce CRM records, and ensure strong governance.
  • Work closely with Marketing & Brand teams to shape, develop and present NHSP’s propositions.
  • Mentor and support junior team members and new starters, promoting capability building across the team.
  • Review complex tender specifications, assess risk, interpret requirements, and ensure compliant, low risk submissions. 
  • Manage governance and approval processes, liaising with operations, legal, compliance, finance, tech and other internal stakeholders.
  • Write, review and refine compelling sales content, proposals, case studies, and detailed formal tender responses.
  • Build strong collaborative relationships across NHSP to gather insight, new content, innovations and success stories. 
  • Uphold NHSP’s brand, values and professional standards in all external communications and interactions.

About The Candidate

 The successful candidate will:

  • Bring extensive experience in senior level bid management, with a proven track record of leading multiple, complex and high value tenders to successful submission.
  • Demonstrate exceptional written and verbal communication skills, capable of producing compelling, accurate, and fully compliant bid content that clearly articulates win themes and value propositions.
  • Possess strong commercial awareness and critical thinking, with the ability to interpret buyer specifications, assess risk, and translate requirements into effective operational solutions.
  • Be highly organised, structured, and motivated, able to manage multiple workstreams, stakeholders and deadlines under pressure while maintaining high quality standards.
  • Build strong, influential relationships with senior stakeholders, including C‑Suite, Board and Senior Leadership colleagues, collaborating effectively across the organisation. 
  • Confidently mentor and develop junior team members, contributing to a culture of capability building, shared learning, and continuous improvement.
  • Be proficient in Microsoft Office, SharePoint, Teams and Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign), with the ability to create visually engaging collateral and leverage technology effectively.
  • Bring curiosity, proactivity and a solution focused mindset, actively seeking new insights, content, innovations and improvements to enhance NHSP’s bid activity.
