About The Role

At NHS Professionals, we’re looking for a motivated Strategic Sourcing Manager to play a key role in shaping how we buy and manage contracts across our £40m+ spend portfolio. Reporting directly to the Head of Procurement, this role gives you the chance to influence business-critical decisions and lead on complex, high-value projects that truly make a difference.

Please note, this role is a Maternity Cover FTC until 30/07/2027

What you’ll be doing:

  • Leading sourcing and contract management across direct and indirect categories.
  • Developing and delivering category strategies that support NHSP’s mission and business goals.
  • Driving supplier negotiations, contract drafting, and governance.
  • Partnering with senior stakeholders to embed best practice procurement.
  • Leading and developing a small team, building a high-performance culture.

What we’re looking for:

  • Proven procurement or category management experience in a complex environment.
  • Strong commercial acumen with contract negotiation and drafting skills.
  • A strategic thinker who can also deliver at pace.
  • Excellent stakeholder engagement and influencing skills.
  • Experience leading or coaching team members.

About The Candidate

To be successful in this post you will need to:

  • Have a collaborative and engaging approach
  • Have several years' experience in a similar role working with high value contracts
  • Ideally hold a CIPS or other relevant qualification (desirable)
  • Be able to manage priorities 
  • Work under pressure sometimes with challenging and variable timescales and deadlines
  • Engage effectively with internal and external stakeholders at all levels
  • Be an experienced negotiator with a modern and creative approach to maximising value for NHSP and its suppliers and clients
  • Experience in managing a team to reach their full potential
